The XAL (Xarxa Audiovisual Local) is a public entity supported by the Barcelona Provincial Council with more than 20 years of existence. Set in Barcelona, the XAL is a collaborative network where all members (local TV and radio stations) contribute and receive content and services from other members or the XAL's Support Centre. Therefore, thanks to this collaborative system, the XAL has its own OTT Platform and important presence in the Spanish DTT (Digital Terrestrial Television) panorama. The Network's Headquarters are in charge not only to help all local media agents to overcome the daily difficulties, but also to face up future new challenges, such as new technology innovations. For this reason, the XAL has an Operations Department in charge to test different new technological innovations. Finally, the XAL provides legal and accountable advisement to all of its members.
