Mission

The News & Society Hub brings together journalists, researchers, newsrooms and media companies who are trying to navigate all the challenges facing journalism today. Trust in news is fragile and entire audiences are turning away from reputable news sources, feeling like traditional journalism is not serving their needs.

The Hub focuses on both innovation and ethics while tackling questions about how journalism can adapt, rebuild credibility and remain relevant in a time where serving the dashboard seems to become more of a priority. Members discuss AI tooling in news processes, from automating routine tasks to the thorny ethical questions that come with it. You'll find conversations about fact-checking strategies and practical approaches to combating news avoidance. Whether you're experimenting with new verification tools or figuring out how to make journalism accessible to communities that traditional news have left behind, this is where you learn from colleagues who are facing the same struggles. The Hub also explores how geopolitics shapes what gets covered, and how and what that means for newsrooms trying to serve increasingly global and diverse audiences.

Members share what's working in their newsrooms and what’s not. You'll also find support from people who understand the pressure of doing more with less while maintaining journalistic standards.  The News & Society Hub exists to help newsrooms innovate responsibly and create journalism that people can truly trust and rely on.
