Together with our partner Flanders Investment & Trade we hosted our #European Mediatech Networking Event at Slush 2021
As a side event, we focused on current trends in the European mediatech ecosystem. We spoke with some of the key players in the Nordic media ecosystem, gave some international startups a platform to speak and hosted a panel discussion.

Why Slush? Slush is one of the world's leading startup events in Helsinki, Finland. Slush is a new curated community for European startups, investors, partners and ecosystem builders. It strives to support startups in raising funding, growing their business, and learning from the best through workshops, mentoring sessions, keynotes, and fireside chats.

Together with our Media Motor Europe community we're proud to have introduced some of our keynote speakers who had a conversation together with us, shared their insights and answered the most important question of this session: “What is trending in European mediatech?”.

You can rewatch the entire event on YouTube:

The panel discussed why a media data space is relevant, what the risks would be and how it will evolve into a fight with the tech giants.

Our panel consited of Jaakko Lempinen (head of Audience Experience at Yle), Liisa Lundström (Chief Executive Officer at Media Metrics Finland & Finnish Authentication Cooperative), Jarno Kartela (Global Head of AI Advisory at Thoughtworks), Juho-Petteri Huhtala (researcher at Aalto University School of Business), and Jan Vereecken (Chief Product Officer at Meeco). This will all be moderated by Teemu Ropponen, General Manager at MyData Global.

After the panel, we organised a pitching session for some of the start-ups.

One of them is DataVillage. They are changing the way personal data is collected, managed and applied to benefit businesses and consumers alike. The start-up provides access to high quality data without burdening you with data harvesting, processing, or legal concerns.

Second is Meeco. Meeco gives people and organisations the tools to access, control and create mutual value from personal data. Privately, securely and with explicit consent.
