NEW CREATIVES
New Creatives is a scheme open to emerging artists aged 16-30 from across England, managed by a series of regional hubs - often these are startups and smaller arts organisations. Connected Studio has worked with each of these regional centres to provide support and expertise to both the hubs and New Creatives applicants enabling the creation of exciting and original interactive projects from a brand new generation of artists.
Connected Studio collaborated with the hubs to run workshops for potential applicants about how to approach interactivity, as well as introducing them to the range of tools that they could use to create their projects. Workshops gave applicants an introduction to an array of interactive authoring tools from companies across the field of interactivity, as well as some BBC-licensed third-party tools. The Interactive strand of the scheme has produced an incredible range of pieces, with commissions from small companies going on to feature at the BFI London Film Festival and Sundance, amongst others.
