SYLLABS

Syllabs

Francetv sport uses the robot journalism technology of the French start-up Syllabs to cover the French football championship for the 2018/2019 season. Since August, Francetv sport has been working with Syllabs, a specialist in semantic analysis and automatic content writing, to cover the French football championship. Thus, Syllabs produces an article for France Télévisions' sports before each championship day and before each match, with statistics, essential information, and a report on each of the 380 matches of the season. Thanks to Syllabs' solution, Francetv sport will also publish biographies of Ligue 1 players. These articles are available on Francetv sport's website and applications in the "football" section.

Syllabs

The test aims at producing automated contents to improve the SEO while producing and publishing articles in very short times. It is also a test to show the journalists how technology can help, especially to write basic contents with no specific value, so that journalists can focus on more detailed articles. Although articles are written automatically by Syllabs in very short times, they are not published automatically on France tv sport website and app as journalists prefer to validate them before. Thus, the goals of time saving and SEO improvement are not achieved. France Télévisions needs to improve its internal process to benefit fully from the solution. Discussions are also led with Syllabs to integrate relevant pictures inside the articles.
